In 2023, more than 294 people in the United States died from a drug overdose...EVERY DAY!  The good news is, that's a decrease of 3% from the 111,029 deaths estimated in 2022. This is the first annual decrease in drug overdose deaths since 2018.  The bad news is, that's still too many loved ones lost!

In 2021, more than 293 people in the United States died from a drug overdose…  In 2020, the number of overdose deaths jumped 30% from 2019…and an additional 15% in 2021 from 2020.  More people die annually from alcohol and drug overdose than are killed in automobile accidents.  It is a leading cause of death among people under the age of 45 and it is estimated that 12% of children in the United States live with a parent who abuses drugs.

The need for an affordable and easy-to-use recovery program is at an all-time high.  The pandemic has increased the need for a program like the Warriors & Heroes with more people than ever suffering from addiction, depression, and anxiety.

The ripple effects of addiction touch family, friends,  employers and society as a whole.  Even if quarantined or working from home, the Warriors & Heroes programs provide an easy-to-follow system for those who need recovery.  Our program is also great for continued aftercare for those who have detoxed and are struggling to stay clean.

The estimated total economic burden of drug and alcohol use in 2021 was over 740 BILLION! Addiction costs American businesses and organizations an average of $81 billion in lost profits every year. This is due to losses in productivity, high turnover rates, theft in the workplace, increases in absenteeism, utilization of sick time, decreases in quality of work and poor or negligent customer service.

Other costs of addiction include:

  • The Spread of HIV/AIDs and Hepatitis C
  • Deaths from Overdose
  • Effects on Unborn Children
  • Crime & Incarceration
  • Domestic Abuse
  • Childhood Neglect
  • Divorce/Broken Families
  • Homelessness
  • Unemployment – 67% of HR professionals believe addiction is one of the most serious issues they face within their company

These heartbreaking and debilitating statistics go on and on and represent the destruction of real people, their lives, their hopes and dreams, and their families.
