Addiction is a disease that destroys lives; the life of the addict as well as the lives of family and loved ones who struggle to understand and help them.  The stigma that addiction is a crime prevents so many people from seeking the help they deserve. But addiction is a disease. Just like a person who drinks too much and ends up with liver disease, the person who uses and eventually becomes addicted also has a disease. A disease that can be reversed with time, education, and support.

We ALL know someone who’s suffered from the monster of addiction.
