What I Wish My Loved Ones Knew

I wish the people I loved knew more about the quiet parts of me, the thoughts I keep tucked away, the memories that still shape me, and the dreams I am sometimes too afraid to say out loud. I wish they understood the reasons behind my addiction, behind my silence, the weight behind my smile, and the little things that make me feel seen. Not because I expect them to fix anything, but because being truly known by the people you love feels like a kind of home.

There is comfort in imagining that they could look at me and not just see someone with an addiction or a  problem, but also as who I am becoming and all the hidden pieces I carry with me.  This is one thing I wish they knew about me.
