Situations & People I Need to Avoid

Identifying the situations and people you need to avoid is an important part of protecting your recovery. This means being honest with yourself about places, routines, conversations, or relationships that increase cravings, stress, old habits, or unhealthy thinking.

Some situations may seem harmless at first, but if they remind you of past substance use, encourage risky choices, or make it harder to stay focused on your goals, it is okay to create distance from them. The same is true for people who pressure you, dismiss your progress, bring negativity into your life, or do not respect your boundaries.

Avoiding these triggers is not about judgment or weakness; it is about choosing safety, stability, and the kind of support that helps you keep moving forward in recovery.
