Our Story

My name is Julie Davis, but people call me Granny Spuggz. I am the founder and CEO of Spuggz, LLC and the Warriors & Heroes recovery programs.

The name Spuggz came from my grandson when he was only three years old.  After trying for several years to come up with a unique name for my company, I finally asked Mason what his favorite two words were… he told me, “spiders and bugs”…so Spuggz it is!

My passion for creating the Power of 90 Days programs came from helplessly watching family members and friends struggle with the horrors of addiction.  I’ve held them while they sobbed in desperation, literally dragged them out of the gutter their dealer threw them in, gone on midnight searches to crack houses looking for them, and have taken way too many suicidal calls in the middle of the night.

I have tended to their infants, toddlers, and young children when they were incapable or legally not allowed to be alone with them. And I knew, just knew, I had to find a way to help. I couldn’t stand by and do nothing while so many people were suffering.

I also realized, there was more to recovery than just getting clean.  And regardless of whether we want to recover, or just want to focus on personal growth, to be truly healthy and happy means we need to have a balanced life.  So I created workshops that cover everything from A to Z.

The final straw

It was really late. I had gotten up early to drive four hours from Las Vegas to Los Angeles, just to give a two-hour business presentation. Then I drove another four hours back to Las Vegas. I was glad to be home and was grateful as I wearily climbed into bed. Then the phone rang. It was my young niece and she needed to be picked up, from California where she was stranded.

She had finally freed herself from the burlap bag her drug dealer had trapped her in before he threw her down a ravine and left her to die.

He had kidnapped her from Las Vegas and discarded her like trash because he thought she had ratted him out to the cops. She clawed her way back up to the highway and thumbed a ride to the nearest city and gave me a call.

She knew that no matter what time of day or night it was, I would be there for her. So, I drove another four hours to California to collect her, then another four hours back to Las Vegas.

As I looked at her beaten and bloody body I thought, “This is it. This is the rock bottom she needs to get clean.” But I was wrong. Even after she lost custody of her young daughter, she still continued to use. And I couldn’t image what else it would take. When is it enough?

That’s when I knew…just knew…I had to do something more. I had to find a way to help those I could. So, I created the Warriors & Heroes Programs, designed to help people recover, no matter how long it takes, one-step-at-a time. Because even one small step forward is better than where they were before.

My passion only grew after my son was left with no choice but to divorce his wife because of her drug addiction.  The heartbreak it causes to see my young grandchildren suffer with the emotional rollercoaster they go through with mommy being around sometimes but not others, not understanding why mommy “Doesn’t love me enough to get better”.

Watching my son struggle with being a single parent has been extremely hard.  And the fear that I live with that someday my grandchildren might follow in their mother’s footsteps is sometimes unbearable.  These are some of the reasons I know I need to do something to make it better.  Because no family, no person, deserves this.

I have dedicated the last six (6) years, thousands of hours, and hundreds of thousands of dollars, researching, training, studying, and developing this program. I have worked with and observed professionals in the fields of stem cell therapy, psychology, cognitive behavioral therapy, and life coaching.  I have picked the brains and collaborated with the best scientist, doctors, and psychologists to create our program, a program I believe will help thousands and thousands of people affected by the monster of addiction.
